Chapter 1 - 5. There were civil wars between the followers of David and followers of Saul. And since God was always with David, he defeated them all. However, he still loved them as their own people.
Chapter 6. The Ark brought to Jerusalem.
(v6.) God struck Uzzah because of his irreverent act - trying to reach out and take hold of the ark of God, because of the oxen stumbled. The problem is: his irreverent act - he was not thinking God as a God, but the same way he treated other ordinary artifacts.

Starting book of 2-Samuel 1
David didn't kill Saul, because he did not want to kill the Lord's anointed person, no matter how bad he had become (proved by that he killed the guy who stroke Saul, tho it was Saul's order (2Sam 1)). People thought David saved Saul's life twice because he was a nice guy, which was a WRONG impression/thought.
The lesson:
We shouldn't touch the Lord's anointed, at all!!
Matthew 18:15-17
15. "If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over."
16. "But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses."
17. "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector."
Matthew 23:3
"You must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach."
